patchwork heart
In the midst of the lockdown, and the bad news, and these scary times, I wanted to find joy and playfulness in my heart. I wanted to send those feelings of hope out into the world. Collaging and painting with favorite colors and patterns became a path away from darkness and into light. I hope to send this work to a place where it can shine some light.

68 Degrees in los angeles
You may be wondering about the title. There is a piece of very old newspaper collaged into the piece and if you read it, you'll see that weather report. I love finding little phrases and messages that show up in the texts that I collage. I feel they may hold special meaning for the viewer to is interested enough to see. This heart is bold and strong and has a lot of hidden meanings. I hope it finds a similar home.
playful heart
No matter what is going on, the idea of a playful heart is compelling and healing. This piece is aimed at finding the lightness and sweetness that can be found within. With papers, paints, stencils and love, I poured joy into this piece and hope you find it here too.

criss cross heart
Black and white seems to make everything look better, more vivid, and more luscious.

lavender love
Lavender feels so ethereal and lovely, fragile and strong. This piece has all those elements plus whatever you bring to it.
polka dot heart
Maybe some cracks, maybe some pieces break off, but it’s good to be alive with a joyful heart.
Building a heart
This piece is strong and architectural. It includes collage from architectural drawings. It also includes a piece of a poster I found in Paris that has the word juillet (July). A lot of pieces and a lot of stories went into building this heart. I hope you will feel the strength and depth - to build and to rebuild.
daffodils and jasmine
“and the seasons, they go ‘round and ‘round. and the painted ponies go up and down…” (joni mitchell) and the daffodils and jasmine come around again too.
something about paris
This piece is composed of papers and posters I found in Paris as well as some of my favorite bits of collage ephemera. The date 14 juillet is Bastille Day in France —a turning point in the French revolution and day of freedom for many. I hope this piece captures the feeling of hard and soft and release from our bonds, whatever they may be.
midnight in paris
Nights in Paris have a special quality - elegance, connection, glamour, warmth, and golden glow. This piece adds to all that, pieces of posters found on the walls of buildings all over the city. Black, white and gold with the magic of kaleidoscopes and bits of conversation.

tell a story
That’s your mission and my mission. Our lives will be a story that’s never been told. Make it a great one. Full of magic and mystery, boldness and gentleness. Does this piece speak to you?
IT HAPPENS ON THE EDGES
This piece is bold and flirty at the same time. Gray, black and white create strong graphic elements. And yet, seductive turquoise and chartreuse drip down and speak of swimming pools and summer time and the living is easy.
Arial View of Eleven Red Squares
Chance shapes and carefully calculated geometry. Formulas and intuition. Control and its absence. It can get strange but in a glorious way if we can ride that wave.
Looks Like 2 Again
Bold portrait of 2 that wraps around the edges. Strong colors make a strong statement in any room Small but mighty.
Three Voyages
Every voyage creates a new me.
Mystery Message
Yes there was once a message, but the layers have obscured it. Like life, like our paths, it must be reconstructed, reimagined and renewed. It might have said Everybody wants what Nobody has and Nobody is denied this Moment in Time. Then maybe it said something completely different. You write the story you want to read.
WAKING UP
Still feeling the stillness of dreamland and my lovely bed, but at the edges, the day creeps in. Maybe hold onto the serenity for a moment longer. The world can wait.
SINGING TO THE WIND
Sometimes I just need to sing out my truth, my joy or my pain. Sometimes someone hears and responds. Sometimes it feels like I am singing only to the wind.
IN JAPAN THEY USE CHOPS
I was planning my long awaited trip to Japan and hoping to learn some of the simplicity and quietude of Japanese art. While there, I got a chop with my name in Japanese. I added it to this piece and it just seems to belong.
12"x12" deep wooden panel.
AND THEN SHE FLEW AWAY
A peaceful layered open space. A delicate, lovely red-winged being. So spectacular. We want to hold that life, that beauty, that feeling. And yet, it flies.
WALLPAPER FROM A ROOM I NEVER HAD
Do you have a fantasy childhood? One that had you living free and adventurous in a cool, old, slightly ramshackle Victorian mansion? That's the fantasy childhood I like to imagine. And if I had lived that life, this would be what the walls of my bedroom looked like: layers of old fashioned florals covered with patterned embossed paper and maybe a scribble or two added because, well, it was the kind of childhood where you got to doodle on the walls.
CHUNK OF SOMETHING OLD AND BEAUTIFUL
This piece is composed of found papers, layered, sanded down, and built up again. The sky blue stenciled letters suggest a message but the viewer needs to give it meaning or just enjoy the mystery.
